Nickelodeon Acquires "Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends" For Poland And Benelux

Nickelodeon International has acquired the broadcast rights to Rainbow's popular live-action series Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends for Nickelodeon Poland (Polska) and Nickelodeon Benelux (Netherlands (Nederland) and Belgium (Belgiƫ; Flanders)!

Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends is the Italian animation studio’s first full live-action series and follows the relationship of Maggie – an ordinary American girl with a dream of becoming the world’s greatest fashion designer, and Bianca – a self-proclaimed Italian ‘princess’, as they pursue their dreams at the Milan Fashion Academy.

Maggie is an American girl who wins a scholarship for the Fashion Academy of Milan, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world. Bianca is the daughter of a powerful Italian entrepreneur who is very active in the fashion industry. The two girls meet at the Fashion Academy, and get off to a rocky start as they come from totally different worlds and have opposite personalities. But as they clash again and again, they get to know each other better and begin to understand one another. Together, they form a band - the Moodboards - and learn to express their music talents.

Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends will begin airing Saturdays and Sundays at 19:55 on Nickelodeon Polska from Saturday 1st July 2017, and Monday through Friday at 19:20 uur on Nickelodeon Benelux from Monday 10th July 2017. The series will be locally titled Maggie & Bianca: Fashion Friends in Poland.

Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends first premiered on Italian kidcaster Rai Gulp in 2016. Additional broadcasters signed on for the series include Gulli (France), Karousel (Russia), Disney Channel GSA (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), TV Cultura (Brazil). Netflix, meanwhile, has picked it up for several global territories. Two TV movies are slated for release soon and a third season is currently in production.

On the licensing front, Rainbow has signed a number of agreements for the property, including a Euro master toy deal with Simba Dickie and a publishing license with Mondadori Libri. Earlier this year, ProSiebenSat.1 Licensing added the series to its consumer products portfolio for German-speaking regions. Rainbow has also signed worldwide deal with Sony Music Entertainment Italy S.p.a for the show’s first ever album, which will be a collection of the best songs from series one and two. Also the Moodboards – the band from hit show Maggie and Bianca Fashion Friends – recently played a live concert on May 20th, 2017 at Rome’s Auditorium Conciliazione.
