Nickelodeon's "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" Tour Visits Colorado And North Carolina

Kids in Colorado and North Carolina recently got the chance to play games with Nickelodeon stars!

On Thursday 20th August 2015, Nickelodeon's "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" visited the Shelton Elementary School in Golden Colorado, where each class had the opportunity to get outside and play for a couple of hours from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Students wore their school colors as they danced, met SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star and played games like Nick-Tac-Toe, Inflatable Twister and Nick Bowling. And of course, no Nickelodeon event would be complete without a Nick Radio stand and Slime Booth!

Karen Brown, the school's principal, said the event was a great way to kick off the school year and a perfect complement to the school's health and wellness program - which has already changed recess to come before lunch and has given kids more "brain breaks" throughout the day.

The "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" summer time celebration of kids' love of play will culminate with Nickelodeon's annual Worldwide Day of Play event on Saturday, Sep. 26, when the network will suspend programming from noon to 3 p.m. in order to encourage kids to get up, get out and get active.

Additionally, Nickelodeon's "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" tour visited Fayetteville in North Carolina between Wednesday 12th - Thursday 13th August 2015.
Hundreds of kids joined SpongeBob and Patrick and other television favorites at Festival Park for the event. Kids crawled through tunnels and even got to play on a giant game board. This summer, Nickelodeon has travelled the USA celebrating kids' love of play this summer with "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" events that visited cities across the USA, which will culminate with Nickelodeon's annual "Worldwide Day of Play" event on Saturday 26th September 2015, when the network will suspend programming from noon to 3pm in order to encourage kids to get up, get out and get active. Nickelodeon's WWDoP partners will also host grassroots activities to celebrate play on Saturday 26th September 2015. Before the main event, Nickelodeon's "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" tour will be stopping in New York, NY on Saturday 19th September 2015!
