Progressive Preschool has announced the exciting Nickelodeon news that Nickelodeon UK has joined the line-up of sponsors for the Progressive Preschool Awards 2014 (AKA The Preschool Awards). Following a successful debut in 2013, these cross category industry awards reflect the dynamism and creativity that the preschool Industry stands for. The Progressive Preschool Awards will take place on Thursday 13th November 2014 at The Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London.

The Cartoon Art Museum recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The event featured special meet and greets with TMNT artists Mark Bode, Ken Mitchroney, Irineo Maramba and Felipe Smith; longtime Mirage Studios staffer Molly Bode; Ciro Nieli, Executive Producer of Nickelodeon's hit "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" CG-animated series; and other special guests as they also celebrated the world premiere of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History", an illustrated history of the Turtles written by exhibition curator Andrew Farago and published by Insight Editions. Attendees enjoyed refreshments from event sponsor Extreme Pizza at this free-and-open-to-the-public event! The Cartoon Art Museum’s exhibition included all of the original artwork from the historic first issue from 1984, other early covers and interior artwork from series creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and their associates from Mirage Studios, storyboards and animation cells from the original 1980s "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" television series and material from the popular "TMNT Adventures" comic book originally published by Archie Comics. The upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History" also features a section of the upcoming Michael Bay produced movie, which offers a first look at both Splinter and Shredder in their full glory along with much more.

Den of Geek recently unveiled a exclusive interview with Greg Cipes, who voices Michelangelo in Nickelodeon's hit CG-animated "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" TV series! In the interview, Greg Cipes talks about pizza, keyrings, personal philosophies, and his knowledge of old reggae artists and martial arts. The interview was conducted whilst Greg was visiting London to support his and his business partners', Rose McGowan (Scream), short film, called "Dawn", in which Rose McGowan makes her directorial debut, at the Sundance film festival.

Licensing.biz is reporting that MTV has signed an international licensing deal with UK software service MyBrandEmail for MTV-themed email addresses. Subscribers can choose from five different themed MTV email suffixes - @MTVvip.com, @MTVmoonman.com, @I-Want-My-MTV.com, @KissMyMTV.com and @I-Love-MTV.com - as well as access to exclusive MTV news and competitions. The subscription-based email service is available in all international markets for $15 per year and offers unlimited email storage and dedicated customer support. Fans can choose their preferred option at www.mtv-email.com.

The Burton Mail is reporting that a team from Nickelodeon UK recently sat on the judging panel of YUUworld's recent Designed By YUU competition, which gave fans the chance to design their very own YUUbag, which, when the design work is completed, it will be placed onto YUUworld.com website where they will be sold all over the world by the end of the year. Students from Bridgwater College recently celebrated an outstanding year of sporting achievements at the Team BC Sports Awards at Bridgwater & Albion Rugby Club. The presentation was also attended by professional footballer Scott Laird and professional BMX Flatlander Matti Hemmings, who will be part of The Fruit Shoot Skills Crew, who will be presenting Nickelodeon UK's brand-new magazine-style series "Fruit Shoot Get Your Skills On" this August! Laird, who attended Robert Blake School in Bridgwater, talked to students about how he became a professional footballer and his battle to return to full fitness after breaking his leg. Hemmings, who holds the world record for the most ‘Cliffhanger Spins’ in one minute, shared his experiences of working for Nickelodeon and the work he did for the London Olympic Torch Relay, while also treating the students and coaches to a live performance, demonstrating some of his most complex moves.

Licensing.biz and The Book Seller are reporting that the official UK consumer retail launch of Platinum Films' "Matt Hatter Chronicles" will take place this autumn, ITV Studios Global Entertainment has confirmed. All of the major licensing categories are covered, with 17 UK partners on board, as well as confirmed retail listings in place with all the key retailers. Global partners preparing for the retail debut include Simba Dickie, which is the master toy licensee across UK, EMEA, CEE, Russia and India). In the publishing category, Penguin is on board for books and Pedigree for annuals, while apparel partners poised for launch in the UK include Smith and Brooks for boys fashion and TDP Aykroyd for nightwear and underwear. The toy category is further bolstered by Tactic Games for puzzles and Hy-Pro with its range of wheeled toys. Gifting and stationery lines will be developed by GB eye and London Europe respectively. New partners continue to come on board for phase two of the retail roll out in 2015. London Europe will debut a range of homewares including lunchboxes and drink bottles from spring 2015, while Hall & Associates has signed up for personal care with product rolling out from January 2015 onwards. Joining these partners for 2015 launch is Trademark Collections and VMC for bags and fashion accessories respectively, University Games for games, Character World for junior bedding sets and home accessories, Topps for trading cards and Titan for the official "Matt Hatter Chronicles Magazine". The first "Matt Hatter Chronicles" book Penguin will publish will be titled "The Black Knight" and introduces Matt and his friends Roxie and Gomez as they battle villains from famous movies. The second book, "Doctor Fossil", is about the team fighting Doctor Fossil, who plans to bring a demon beast back to life. Penguin will publish both books under the Ladybird imprint 7th August. "Matt Hatter Chronicles" airs on NickToons UK.

"I've always wanted a chief anything title," actor Josh Peck, best known for his stint on Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh", told Mashable. Well, on Thursday, he accomplished that goal, becoming Chief Creative Viner for fashion brand Joe Boxer.

Nickelodeon Superstar SpongeBob SquarePants recently attended the inaugural NJ KidsFest held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, reports the New Jersey Herald. To celebrate heroes of all kinds, kids were encouraged to dress up like their favorite superheroes and march in a parade that was led by Spongebob Squarepants, who also walked around the festival all day posing for pictures with his fans.

JHS recently showcased their brand-new line of licensed "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" real musical instruments at a dedicated event for music dealers! Additionally, JHS also showcased their brand-new "The Beano" inspired licensed real musical instruments at the same event, which was attended by Dennis the Menace, who run amok around the event and the offices, followed by "The Beano"'s very own artist Kevin Sutherland drawing on the spot caricatures of every one.

The Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles has announced in a press release that screenwriter Becca Topol (Nickelodeon Movies) will be one of the prominent instructors who have come aboard to develop students' experiences in a variety of fields as part of the colleges' new master of fine arts degree in film & television.

BRG Sports, Inc., a leading designer, developer and marketer of branded sports equipment, protective products and related accessories, has announced that C-Preme Ltd., a Southern California-based leading designer and developer of protective helmets and sporting goods for children, teens and adults, recently signed licensing agreements with Nickelodeon, which will provide access to a suite of their popular characters for use on its products, including "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "SpongeBob SquarePants", and "Dora the Explorer".

AWN is reporting that PGS Entertainment has announced pre-sales of two seasons of "ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks", the new CG-animated series from Bagdasarian Productions, to Germany's SUPER RTL and Spain's ATRESMEDIA TELEVISIÓN. "ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks" was commissioned by M6 in France and has also been licensed to Nickelodeon for more than 70 Nick channels around the world.

Lyyti, a Finnish-based event management software company, has announced in a press release that they have signed Be Viacom as a new enterprise customer. Be Viacom is one of the biggest media companies in Europe, with globally known brands such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. Previously, companies such as Deloitte, ABB, Europcar, TeliaSonera and Unilever have chosen Lyyti as their event management solution.

Children's media industry professional David Kleeman has announced that he will be holding a special screening of the Prix Jeunesse Suitcase at Nickelodeon Studios in Los Angeles in September 2014.

Licensing.biz is reporting that Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) will be attending the Licensing World Russia exhibition, which will be held from September 17th to 18th 2014 in Moscow (Crocus Expo, Pavilion 2, Hall 6). Better known today as the Russian Licensing Forum, from September 2014 the exhibition gains the new brand name - Licensing World Russia.

Licensing.biz is reporting that DHX Media will be bringing all of its licensing and merchandising activity under a new dedicated consumer products arm, DHX Brands. The new division will focus its activity around the firm's slate of licensed properties currently under the DHX Brands banner. DHX Brands will now develop licensing strategies for entertainment brands from the DHX portfolio, including "Teletubbies", "Yo Gabba Gabba", "In the Night Garden" and "Caillou". The firm will also be seeking merchandising opportunities for "Degrassi", "Ella the Elephant" and "Johnny Test".

Ariana's music career actually kicked off in 2011, with her releasing "Put Your Hearts Up". However, this is a track that the singer would rather forget, with her speaking to Rolling Stone about how she cringes looking back at the music video.

Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ: RENT), a global media measurement and research company serving the entertainment industry, has announced that they recently signed Viacom to an agreement for some of their most recognized network brands, including their Nickelodeon properties, several MTV properties, Country Music Television, Comedy Central logo and TV Land during 4Q14.

Kidscreen is reporting that London-based producer and rights management company Coolabi Group's "Poppy Cat" brand will expand its presence in the US and Spain following deals with licensing agents Firefly Brand Management and El Ocho. California-based Cosmic Forces is also set to develop an educational app entitled "Poppy Cat Goes to the Market", which teaches basic Spanish language to English-speaking toddlers and English to Spanish preschoolers. Launching this summer, the new app will be available on iOS, Android, Nook, web and desktop platforms. Fellow Californian Firefly Brand Management will develop a North American consumer products program as season two of "Poppy Cat" launches on Sprout in the US this Fall/Autumn. Madrid-based El Ocho will be developing initiatives for Poppy Cat in the territory, where the brand airs on Disney Spain and on terrestrial broadcast channel TVE. "Poppy Cat" is co-produced by Coolabi's television production arm, Coolabi Productions, along with King Rollo Films and was commissioned by Nick Jr. in the UK.

Nickelodeon recently threw Pharrell a Sponge-Tastic "SpongeBob SquarePants" party to celebrate his 41st Birthday at Bikini Bottom at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. His wife Helen Lasichanh was by his side as he rang in his big 4-1, along with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Russell Simmons, Angela Simmons, Chanel Iman, Nicky Hilton, Josh Lucas and Soledad O' Brien, among others. Q-Tip was also there, serving as the DJ for the evening.

Kidscreen is reporting that London-based indie Silvergate Media has sold the second season of its animated series "Peter Rabbit" to the BBC's kids' channel CBeebies. The re-imagined series, based on characters from Beatrix Potter's best-selling children's book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", first aired on CBeebies in December 2012 and has been a ratings winner consistently topping the "most popular" list on the BBC iPlayer. The new season will once again be animated by Ireland's Brown Bag Films and produced by Silvergate in partnership with Penguin UK and Nickelodeon USA. Season two will consist of 52 x 11-minute episodes and two 23-minute specials. Regular main characters Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny and Lily Bobtail will return along with new characters including Tom Kitten, Mittens, Pig Robinson and Mr. Tolly the Tortoise. The second season pick-up comes as new international broadcasters continue to acquire season one including Germany's Super RTL, which inked a TV and merchandising rights deal for the IP in January. Silvergate owns the worldwide licensing and merchandising rights to the classic "Peter Rabbit" brand and all audiovisual, licensing and merchandising rights to the new CG-animated "Peter Rabbit" worldwide, excluding the Americas and India, which are controlled by Nickelodeon US.

Viacom boss: C5 can keep ad sales operation: Channel 5 will continue to handle its own advertising sales following its purchase by Viacom, according to the US media giant’s boss Philippe Dauman, reports Broadcast.
